So at what point as a designer/developer do you refuse to continue working for/with a client?
Because this is my blog I have chosen to rant from time to time. This is one of those rants.
How do we, in the web profession, decide to stop working for someone/a company. I personally take a lot of harsh feedback. Most of it is from a personal standpoint. “I don’t like this” or “this feels…”! To be honest feedback is great, it helps get the design and development to a great well thought out place. Where we can all agree is the best place to be.
In a current development contract I was discussing some of this feedback. Giving my professional opinion (which to be honest is still an opinion) and the client, for whatever personal reason had some choice words for me.
Now, with a bit of back story, this client has been known to be a bit touchy. Prone to out bursts and yelling. I tend to walk on eggshells when discussing current projects and designs.
While discussing one of the current projects I was giving some opinions and received those very unprofessional words of wisdom from said client.
At this point I have a choice to make. Do I overlook these destructive comments about my character or do I deny service from this point forth??
Advice?
Man, I wish life was as easy as no shoes, no shirt, no service!
